Preparing the best conditions for Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival 2016

On Dec 1^st, Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting with Steering Committee (SC) for the 9th Binh Duong Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival 2016.

According to Education and Training Department, which was the SC’s permanent member, Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival 2016 will consist of 14 sports, including athletics, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, taekwondo, Vovinam, chess, jianzi, table tennis, gymnastics (high schools, secondary and elementary schools), tug war (secondary schools). Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival 2016 will include two phases, from Jun 23^rd to Mar 6^th (Phase 1) and from Mar 19^th to Mar 23^rd (phase 2). The opening ceremony is expected to take place at 18 am on Mar 19^th at provincial stadium; closing ceremony will take place in the morning Mar 23^rd. The 9th Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival 2016 will bring together 34 delegations from secondary, high schools and 9 provincial Education and Training Offices with a total number of 11,000 athletes as pupils of high schools, secondary schools and elementary schools across the province.

At the meeting, representatives of departments and sectors gave opinions on the preparation of material facilities; planned assignment of tasks to units, participant carrying and transferring to join the opening ceremony; free health checking for athletes...

Concluding at the meeting, Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, Head of the SC, required Department of Education and Training to acquire ideas to soon complete the content, plan; establish the organizing committee, assisting subcommittees; prepare opening and closing ceremony scenarios. Simultaneously, assigning specific tasks to members of the SC to ensure the best conditions for competition venues, professional works, material facilities, healthcare, security, fire prevention fighting, propaganda works... to have a successful sports festival, and to pave the way for Binh Duong to host the regional Phu Dong Sports Festival as well as select excellent candidates for the National Phu Dong Sports Festival 2016.
