Province obtains stable socio-economic growth, creating momentum to successfully realize year’s plan

Provincial People’s Committee has just held its periodic session in April, 2019.  Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee presided over the session.

Fields with high growth

Reportedly, the province’s index of industrial production in April 2019 surged 9% and 12.85% compared to the previous month and the same period last year. Of these, mining industry grew by 5.76%; processing and manufacturing by 7.49%; production and distribution of power by 15.87%; water supply, waste and sewage treatment by 5.63%.

The province’s trade surplus was US$2.35billion. Particularly, export value was estimated at more than US$2.51billion, up 20.5% and 41.1% against the previous month and the corresponding period last year. Last year, some main export products on footwear, furniture, electronics… reached high growth at 16.3%, 14.4%, 12.2%..., respectively. Whilst, the province’s import value was VND1billion, up 14.1% over the previous month.

Estimatedly, the province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services in April 2019 was more than VND18.92billion, up 2.6% and 23% compared to the previous month and the same period last year. The province’s consumer price index in the first four months of the year surged 2.18% compared to the same period last year…

Also according to provincial People’s Committee, the province’s total capital disbursed for public investment as of April 15 was VND506billion or 6.5% of the year’s plan. In addition, the province in April 2019 absorbed more than VND5.4trillion in domestic capital from 667 newly-registered projects and 91 extra-ones. Thus, the province lured more than VND15.29trillion in domestic capital from 1,695 newly-registered projects and 264 extra-ones over the past four months.

Whilst, the province in April 2019 also attracted US$372million in FDI capital. The figure has brought the total FDI capital flowing into the province over the past four months to US$917million, up 51% against the corresponding period last year or 65.5% of the year’s plan.

Well realizing major tasks

Last year, the province paid more attention to handling cases encroaching on pavement and roads; approved provincial master plan on cemeteries to 2030 and vision to 2050; said ok to 4 commercial housing projects; ensured traffic order and safety, especially in celebration of the death anniversary of Hung kings, April 30 and May 1 holidays; perfected the adjustment of a project improving the local public transportation system…

In April 2019, the whole province had a total of 1,148 enterprises with the recruitment demand of 32,867 laborers, including 23,860 unskilled laborers and 9,007 technicians. The province’s functional sectors also introduced jobs to 4,906 laborers. In addition, the province well took solutions on job introduction and vocational training at enterprises’ demand; realized practical and meaningful activities in terms of healthcare, education, culture-sports and tourism; maintained political security and social order-safety…

At the session, provincial People’s Committee asked for sectors and authorities at all levels to prepare contents for the mid-year session of the 9th provincial People’s Council; give a report on the results of realizing provincial Party Committee’s breakthrough programs for the 2016-2020 period; fulfill the 2019 population and housing census; execute 6 motivations of the Government for 2019’s growth; keep a close watch on market prices and stabilize the market for textbooks, learning tools for the 2019-2020 academic year; ensure supply of power; well realize prevention of fire forest and diseases, especially African hog cholera  in poultry and cattle; well organize the national week against natural disasters 2019.

Provincial People’s Committee also instructed relevant units and localities to be proactive to manage State budget under the province’s estimate; reduce tax arrears; make the shift of credit structure at people’s demand for production and business; urgently implement works, projects approved by provincial People’s Council with focus on expanding the national highway 13; perfect some procedures to start construction of some public investment projects.

Speaking at the session, Mr.Liem Mr.Liem asked for sectors, departments and localities to well realize major tasks in the coming time, including hastening the progress of basic construction; taking specific solutions to improve the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Index (PAPI); well realizing administrative discipline; speeding up propaganda and taking solutions to minimize traffic accidents; streamlining the apparatus…
