The annual month of study encouragement takes from September to October 2. During the period, Binh Duong organizes a series of study and talent promotion activities, including awarding scholarships, notebooks, bicycles and computers to poor pupils with excellent academic results. 

“Giving strength to school” scholarships for pupils with difficulties

Before, during and after the opening ceremony of the new academic year, pupils across the province have felt inspired when receiving gifts from Study Promotion Societies at all levels and donors. This move has aimed to give timely encouragement for pupils who gained good results in the last academic year.

The opening ceremony of the new academic year ended one month ago, but study promotion activities have still taken place in some localities in the province. Binh Duong-based South Korean Business Association has just awarded 30 scholarships worth VND4mln each to poor-but-excellent pupils in districts of Dau Tieng and Phu Giao, helping them more confident to enter the new academic year.

On the occasion of the annual Mid-Autumn festival, provincial Child Support Fund always awards scholarships to pupils with difficulties. The fund this year has given away 361 scholarships worth VND411mln for poor-but-excellent pupils. Among them, 52 got the greater joy when being presented bicycles and 8 others were offered computers, facilitating their learning in the new academic year.

Provincial Study Promotion Association and its affiliates also mobilized many sources to award thousands of scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils on the occasion of the new academic year. Last weekend, provincial Study Promotion Association donated 110 scholarships to poor pupils with excellent academic results, helping them make their learning dreams.

Noticeably, many donors have always gone along with poor-but-excellent pupils across the province. Nguyen Thi Thanh My, Deputy General Director of Binh Duong Minerals and Construction Joint Stock Company said that we have contributed hundreds of million of dong to provincial Study Promotion Association, Child Support Fund and their affiliates to take care of outstanding pupils and those with difficulties in the 2013-2014 academic year…

Provincial leaders and education sector have also paid more attention to support activities for poor-but-excellent pupils during the annual month of study encouragement. It is known that the province honored outstanding pupils in the 2012 and 2013 academic year right when the new academic year started. Particularly, the province honored 1,266 good pupils at all levels and 115 classes with the high ratio of pupils passing the 2013 university entrance exam. Among them, 115 classes and 106 pupils were awarded the certificates of merit from provincial People’s Committee.

Study, talent promotion and study-based society building are the Party and State’s great policies to arise the tradition of fondness for learning. According to Nguyen Xuan Vinh, Chairman of provincial Study Promotion Association, the whole province now has all districts, towns, city and all communes, wards and townships with study promotion associations. There are also 685 grassroots-level study promotion organizations. The emulation movement for study promotion has been promoted among the association and its affiliates. Over the past 10 years, provincial Study Promotion Association and its affiliates donated gifts, notebooks, clothes, bicycles…to 620,000 pupils and 11,29 teachers with a total expense of nearly VND110bln.
