A seminar entitled “Vietnam Global Environment Fund (GEF) National Dialogue” was held by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on October 14 in Hanoi.
The aim of the seminar were to clarify the GEF’s strategies and policies, exchange experiences in building and managing the GEF’s projects, and strengthen the GEF’s operations.
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha said the seminar was an opportunity for Vietnam to review its achievements and shortcomings in protecting national resources and the environment.
Founded in 1990, the GEF plays an important role in solving environmental problems in 182 countries. Vietnam received funding from the GEF for 34 national projects and 28 global programmes.
