Sports activities to celebrate Southern Liberation Day and International Labour Day

The province has continuously organized sports activities to mark Southern Liberation Day on April 30 and International Labour Day on May 1.

This year’s provincial traditional boat racing tournament will take place on the morning of April 30, which expects to lure 6 units. The rowers will race over distances of 500m and 2,000m.

Provincial Center for Sports and Physical Training also teamed up with relevant units to kick off the provincial Taekwondo Championships 2012 on April 26, with participation of 195 athletes who will compete for 21 sets of gold medals. The tournament will close on April 28 ahead.

Whilst, Tan Uyen district’s mini-football tournament (photo) has just been organized with the participation of more than 20 football teams across the district.  

Dau Tieng district has also just held a Taichi performance gala to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam with participation of nearly 1,000 athletes, creating an useful playground for the local old people.

Many other sports activities in celebration of Southern Liberation Day and International Labour Day have also been organized by Phu Giao, Ben Cat, Di An and Thuan An.

According to provincial Physical Training and Sports Center Director Pham Van Lam, the local sports sector also expects to organize a musical and sports event for disable people on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 holiday.
