The 2012 Asian Taekwondo Championships will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from May 4 to 11. The week-long event includes two Taekwondo performance competitions on May 4-5, a Taekwondo junior combative competition from May 6-8, and a championship from May 9 to 21. In another development, the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism signed a sponsorship contract with a company from the Republic of Korea (RoK) on April 25. Accordingly, the RoK firm will sponsor two Vietnamese Taekwondo artists, namely Chu Hoang Dieu Linh and Le Huynh Chau, who qualify for Olympic status. The two athletes will take part in a two-month training course in the RoK under the guidance of a Korean coach before leaving for London to attend the world’s largest sporting event in July. VOV
