Summer Camp 2013 to remind overseas youth of their national origins

About 200 overseas youth will return to the homeland for the Vietnam Summer Camp 2013 from July 11-30. Deputy Foreign Minister and Head of COVA Mr Nguyen Thanh Son The information was released by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 3 in Hanoi. According to Deputy Foreign Minister and Head of COVA Nguyen Thanh Son, this year marks the 10th annual Vietnam Summer Camp, which aims to help young overseas Vietnamese better understand the history and culture of their nation of origin, thus enhancing their attachment to the homeland. The opening ceremony will take place in Ha Giang province and the closing ceremony will be held in Ca Mau province. During the Vietnam Summer Camp 2013, young overseas Vietnamese will participate in various activities across Vietnam, such as offering incense at the Hung Kings Temple in Phu Tho province, visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi, conducting exchanges with young people in some provinces and visiting landscapes throughout the country. This year's event is organized to mark the 60th anniversary of the August Revolutionary, 66th year of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, and the 10th year of the Vietnam Summer Camp. CPV
