On display are nearly 100 photos vividly and comprehensively depicting the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela in politics, economics and culture, thus introducing to the audience the partnership and fraternal bond between the two countries. In his opening speech, VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi said that despite their geographical distance, Vietnam and Venezuela are close at heart. He said the two peoples share a close friendship thanks to similarities in history, politics and culture. Friendship and solidarity between the two nations sparked when Vietnam was in its fight for national independence and unification. A question raised for both countries during their socio-economic development now is how to utilise Vietnam-Venezuela relations and further enhance their friendly cooperation with the aim to improve the lives of local people, while defending peace and the revolutionary achievements both nations share, he stressed. The relationship between the VNA and the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN) has gone from strength to strength since the two sides signed a Cooperation Agreement, he added. Venezuelan Ambassador to Vietnam Jorge Rondon Uzcategui said Vietnam and Venezuela have rapidly developed their relations in various fields since they set up their diplomatic ties in 1989. The event, which showcases images of meetings among leaders of both countries, aims to create a new momentum for Vietnam and Venezuela to make their ties more practical and effective and become stronger for the prosperity of both peoples, he said. Visitors to the exhibition will have a chance to enjoy images of the nation, people, famous sites and the unique culture of Venezuela, a beautiful country beside the Caribbean Sea. The event is a practical activity to further foster the friendship, comprehensive cooperation and mutual trust between the two fraternal countries.
