On Aug. 25, Tan Uyen district People’s Committee granted 187 scholarships, 333 notebooks and 22 bikes to local talented disadvantaged students on the new school year of 2011-2012. The total expense of the gifts is worth of over VND151mil funded by bodies and donors.

Pham Van Loi, vice chairman of the district People’s Committee, said this is an annual activity in the locality, helping local poor students pursue their study.
