Binh Duong is appreciated as a locality with great potential in tourism development. So far, provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DoCST) has also step by step realized provincial tourism development project to 2020 and vision to 2030 with focus on promoting infrastructure facilities for tourism, creating tourism products and training human resources to serve the sector.
Local tourism gets thriving
Binh Duong’s tourism sector has begun getting thriving in recent three years. In 2017 alone, the province welcomed more than 4.5 million tourists, including 240,000 domestic tourists and 4.3million foreign ones, with a total revenue of VND1.28trillion.

Nguyen Khoa Hai, Director of provincial DoCST said that the above result came from the efforts by the local tourism sector. Particularly, the sector called for economic sectors’ participation; disseminated tourism civilized behavior regulations among tourism sites, restaurants and hotels; strengthened inspection and supervision in order to opportunely correct wrong actions in tourism business…
The sector also attached special importance to improving staff’s professional skills. Since 2008, provincial DoCST has coordinated with schools in and out of the province to organize 11 classes on specialist knowledge for staff of hotels in the province, contributing to enhancing the quality of the local tourism sector in the coming time.

It is known that till 2010, the province’s tourism sector will need more than VND6.3trillion in investment capital. The sector will also strive to reach the annual growth of 20%. Besides, the province will attach special importance to preserving land fund for ecological tourism development towards FDI attraction into hi-class services.
