The tradition of “Being deferential to teacher and being faithful to ideal” of our country has existed for a long time and has not stopped flowing into the national cultural current. Vietnamese Teacher’s Day on November 20th is a festive day of morality and gratitude to leave beautiful images of teachers in people’s mind. Many generations of provincial teachers have upheld the sense of responsibility, career passion and devotion…  Offering flowers to teachers on occasion of November 20th.Annually, on Vietnamese Teacher’s Day (November 20th), everyone wants to express their gratitude to teachers, because this is the right thing to do according to the national tradition of ““Being deferential to teacher and being faithful to ideal”.Provincial Education – Training (ET) Department Deputy Director Mr. Tran Hieu said: “Today, November 20th, we review beautiful traditions and memories of the sector to be more respectful to our career. Many teachers have had to overcome difficulties in life to educate, take care of pupils. The passion for teaching career has helped them to stand steadily on their school podiums over time.Meritorious teacher (MT) Tran Thi Chau Anh in Ben Cat district is 85 years old now, but she still remembers clearly the first day of getting to office. She told her story: That was in the wartime, as living of teachers as well as pupils had to face numerous difficulties. Then in the subsidization time, we did not have enough food to eat and went to class with an empty stomach. Many schools had to close, because teachers could not sustain. But we were not discouraged, continued to cheer each other and pupils up to go to school. Apart from teaching, we also raised pigs, chickens and did many part-time jobs to earn extra money for living. The only reason helping us to surmount this difficult time was the passion, enthusiasm for teaching career. To me, teaching is always a noble profession, which is only giving but not getting back.MT Cao My Hien, a former teacher of Chu Van An secondary school in TDM City, said: “So many years staying in teaching, so many times welcoming this anniversary. But it is not always the same. As getting older, I can feel more obviously the meaning of this career. Vietnamese people love learning, thus we respect teachers. This profession does not allow us to be sad, pessimistic in front of pupils, despite difficult life or whatever. Being in front of awaiting limpid pupil’s eyes, teachers can forget all innermost feelings.Modern teachers are not only following previous teaching generations’ traditions but also undertaking an important responsibility of training for a high-qualified personnel serving the national development. This is a challenging but glorious task cared by the Party, State and people. Many practical educational projects and large-scale movements have been conducted to refine educational environment together with quality and effectiveness. High consensus among ET sector facilitates comprehensive quality improvement, teaching staff bettering, policy implementation, and the sector’s contributions to the national industrialization and modernization.Teacher Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet of An Binh B primary school in Di An town said, teaching is a noble profession. As becoming a teacher, I can understand thoroughly this nobleness. I am proud of my career, because I can generate excellent flowers for this life, and simultaneously train our morality and behaviors to become a good example for pupils.Despite price escalation, low salary, difficulties in living, teachers still continue to devote themselves silently to their cause with the love for teaching and pupils, doing well the duty of “raising people”. This silent sacrifice of teachers is really respectful, because they have been beautified images of teachers in pupil’s mind.Time elapses, the society has many changes, but sentiment between teacher and pupil is still sacred and noble, and will always be a beautiful tradition in the Vietnamese cultural flow.Reported by N.Thanh – Translated by Ngoc Huynh
