The organising committee of the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) and 11th Southeast Asian Para Games (Para Games 11) has devised three scenarios in response to developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Vietnam Sports Administration.

The first one is that the regional sporting events may take place as normal as COVID-19 is brought under control.
Another possibility is that they will be held although the pandemic remains rampant, posing numerous obstacles and challenges in applying preventive measures and hosting the Games concurrently.
The postponement or cancellation of the events prompted by the absence of various delegations amid complicated developments of the pandemic in some Southeast Asian countries, is the last scenario.
SEA Games 31 is scheduled to be held from November 21 to December 2 in Hanoi and 10 nearby localities, featuring 40 sports and more than 520 events. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the city’s My Dinh Stadium.
Meanwhile, ASEAN Para Games 11 will take place in the capital city from December 17-28 with 14 sports and about 400 competition events./.
