With the purpose of helping the poor and unlucky, Thu Dau Mot town Volunteer Club is an address for charity hearts. Through movements and humanitarian programs, the club has helped thousands of people inside and outside the province overcome difficulties in life.

Along with local socio-economic development, Thu Dau Mot town-based people’s life has been improved sharply with a strong decrease of poverty household rate. However, there remain some poor people that cannot overcome difficulties on their own.

Therefore, since 2002, Thu Dau Mot town Red Cross has set up the town volunteer club. The club has so far lured 98 members, especially the model has been expanded across communes and wards with the participation of 449 members.

Over years, the club has positively mobilized donors to hand useful gifts such as wheelchairs, health insurance cards, charity houses, scholarships… over needy people. The club has mobilized over VND5bil from organizations, individuals and donors over the past years.

Le Thi Dinh, vice chairman of the club is one of the first members of the club. Over years, she has joined in charity programs held by the club. Tu Ke An, member of the club has mobilized other residents to share difficulties with the poor. He said “I annually join in movements of Tet for the poor, poor students as well as mobilize donors to help needy families. From 2009-2010, I mobilized to help 25 poor families with the total money of over VND90mil”.

For poor people, Thu Dau Mot town Volunteer Club is always a reliable address to help them overcome obstacles in life.
