On August 14, Binh Duong held a conference to introduce Singapore's greening process to grasp up and orient goals and tasks on green tree development and environmental protection in Binh Duong province. Attending the conference were Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the CPV Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Head of the provincial Delegation of the National Assembly, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, leader of Becamex IDC, Singapore partners including Chuah Hock Seong, Director of Park Complex in Singapore, Eric Ong, Director of Urban Greenery Management in the South Central Area of Singapore.

At the conference, Chuah Hock Seong introduced the reality of Singapore in the early 1960s and the greening process of the present Singapore. According to Mr. Chuah Hock Seong, it is necessary to create a green corridor connecting the parks. For good management, it is necessary to have a system of science and expertise to ensure two factors of aesthetics and safety to achieve the common criterion that the park becomes a destination for all ages across the country to use entertainment services, cuisine, and resting.

He also brought a comprehensive tree management solution with a scientific, systematic and professional approach, optimizing urban space for flora and entertainment by improving capacity in landscape and horticulture. Chuah Hock Seong said Singapore's main strategy is to become a city in nature, enhancing the landscape of gardens and parks, and restoring the nature.

Presenting on the issue of street greening and flora management in Singapore, Eric Ong introduced the urban greening plan with natural roads to increase the connection of green and biological diversity. Increasing biodiversity in urban environments is a vital component of biodiversity conservation strategies, providing opportunities for community engagement. At the same time, it introduced a closed model of flora management on 5 pillars in order to minimize risks.

Eric Ong said that the digitization of trees for data entry and storage of all kinds of trees has formed and developed a science and technology ecosystem - a green application platform to help units enter data and make recommendations to handle the situations. Implementing the strategic program to bring Singapore back to nature are scientific solutions and measures, making use of smart tools and mechanization. All of the work is aimed at helping Singaporeans enjoy life and share information to interact, raise awareness and work towards a common vision.

To construct a sustainable ecosystem

Making the thematic report on building "Sustainable environmental system for Binh Duong" according to the Government's Net zero roadmap, Nguyen Hong Hai, Chief Architect of Becamex IDC outlined the current status of the ecosystem being affected by the profound affection by challenges posed by climate change, causing consequences such as drought, flooding, spontaneous urbanization, and an increase in temperature.

Facing the situation, Binh Duong has taken actions to improve the ecological corridor and build a sustainable environmental system. Currently, Binh Duong is implementing a triple helix model by constructing a science and technology area, a smart city, and an innovation center.

Providing solutions to balance ecology, Hai asserted the necessity to have policies and apply technology to implement green development with the transition to an ecological industrial park model - industrial symbiosis, planning smart traffic, green development with the restoration of canals and parks along the rivers, establish green belts to control urban-industrial development and build smart ecological urban areas. At least 20% of enterprises in industrial parks must apply solutions for efficient use of resources and clean production, to reserve at least 25% of the industrial park area for trees, traffic, and shared service infrastructure.

Besides, by maintaining and developing ecological corridors, systems of rivers and canals to ensure the life of the land, the model of industrial - service - ecological urban area is the green organ of Binh Duong in the urban structure. In which, sustainable development is given priority in a number of industrial - high-tech segments in the 2025-2035 to relocate production facilities and industrial clusters to the north of the province. After 2035, sustainable development - high technology – innovation, application of technology - service - ecology urban model, development of knowledge economy, circular economy take the stage. Besides, Binh Duong needs to create room for green trees to develop towards a green trend structure.

To practice a civilized lifestyle

Reporting at the conference, Vo Thi Bach Yen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Thu Dau Mot city, said that after 5 years of implementation, the project to build "Cultural and civilized lifestyle of the city" has gone viral to spread strongly and create positive changes in the perception of Party members, cadres, civil servants and the majority of the city's people. The city has built 98 parks and gardens on an area of 73,855 square meters, making up 406.5 hectares of green areas, increasing the ratio of urban green land from 8.02 square meters a person to 13.6. Many models have been implemented such as building a three-zero city, a zero-waste city, and a green city.

Presenting thematic report on the implementation of Project 02 of the Provincial Party Committee on "Civilization to participate in building a cultural and civilized lifestyle in Binh Duong province in 2021-2025", Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of the Standing Committee Minister, Head of the provincial Party Committee's Mass Department, said that the project has received the attention and direction of the Standing provincial Party Committee, the high solidarity and unity of the whole political system, especially the active response of the delegations, members and all classes of people who have contributed to bringing many positive results in the implementation process.

The campaign has strongly promoted the spirit of solidarity of all classes of people, the sense of building culture and urban civilization, and action for the community to increasingly spread in many fields. The landscape of urban and rural areas is becoming more spacious, cleaner and more beautiful. Many new practical models have been built and replicated and have brought results, such as the models of "Bright, green, clean, beautiful routes", "Flower routes", "Exchange waste for gifts" ", "Each Women's Union in every week a humane action to build the beauty of a civilized life", "The yard without grass, the alley without garbage" among others.

Also at the conference, Bui Thanh Nhan disseminated Directive No. 16/CT-UBND of the province dated 11/8-2023 on strengthening the implementation of Project 02-DA/TU dated July 23, 2021 of the provincial Party Committee on public works. Mobilization has been made for partners to participate in building a cultural and civilized lifestyle and the process of green tree development and environmental protection in Binh Duong province.
