These units also cooperates with providers of display and installation services, discount promotion, increase the sales force at sale locations... in response to the market stabilization program and the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritizes Vietnamese products” in 2020.

To well perform the market stabilization program

Demand for goods usually surges at the end of the year. Besides, the factors of weather and diseases continue to affect the supply of some essential commodities, such as pork. However, with the close management and collaboration of the Government and ministries, sectors from the central to local levels, the supply of goods is forecast to be maintained well, helping stabilize the market in the coming time.

Hồ Văn Bình, Deputy Director of Department of Industry and Trade, said that in recent years, units and businesses participating in the market stabilization program have set and registered the selling prices for each specific item of market stabilization goods, and sent to agencies with lower prices of products of the same specifications, categories and quality on the market at the time of registration.

In order to take the initiative in goods sources and prices at the end of this year, from Sep and Oct, retail businesses planned to stock goods. These businesses also negotiated with manufacturers to offer the best prices to consumers during year-end season. The quantity of essential goods of units and enterprises participating in stabilizing program is expected to increase by 20-25% over the same period last year.

Provincial People's Committee assigned Department of Industry and Trade to collaborate with departments and agencies to closely monitor changes in market prices; asked businesses and supermarkets to report the quantity of goods for Tet 2020 and commit to stocking up to take the initiative in additional plans when there is a shortage of goods or increase in local prices. At present, Department of Industry and Trade is working with manufacturers, retail businesses, markets, cooperatives ... to encourage the participation in the stabilizing program to allocate and control sources of supply, avoiding speculation, hoarding, causing market disturbance on Tet holiday.

Mr. Bình added, besides the plan of preparing supply sources, the inspection, quality control, food hygiene and safety will also be strengthened. Accordingly, Department of Industry and Trade will cooperate with provincial Steering Committee against smuggling, trade frauds and counterfeiters, units and localities to enhance market inspection and control, and strictly handle violations to ensure good quality, food safety and hygiene for consumers on Tet holiday.
