Binh Duong’s youngsters have strongly showed their spirit towards national sea and islands via learning programs, voluntary actions, thereby contributing to strengthening propaganda and education on national sovereighty over sea, islands and patriotism among them.
One of recent highlights towards national sea and island was the trip visiting and presenting gifts to soldiers in the Naval Zone 5 in Phu Quoc district’s An Thoi in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang organized by provincial Youth Union. During the trip, provincial Youth Union gave 100 national flags, 20 Uncle Ho’s portraits, gifts and scholarships for officials, soldiers and pupils in the Naval Zone 5 with a total value of approximately VND110million, extracted from provincial Fund of “Sentimental attachment to islands and border areas”.

On this occasion, the Youth Unions of Tan Uyen town, Dau Tieng district, North Tan Uyen and Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company also presented a bookstore with nearly 100 copies of books worth VND20mln to soldiers here.
The trips also got animated with an art performance night entitled “Towards national sea and islands”, making Youth Union officials and members of the two units be closer. In the framework of the trip, the delegation visited and burn incense to commemorate martyrs at the monument of Phu Quoc Prison in An Thoi township; visited and gave national flags and gifts to soldiers at the Brigade 127 under the Naval Zone 5. All aimed to encourage soldiers here to firmly protect the national sea and islands while promoting Youth Union members’love for the national sea and islands.
In July, youngsters across the province also have the chance to learn about the national history through an exhibition on Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel), Truong Sa (Spratly)-Historical and legal evidence”. Provincial Youth Union has carried out a task of mobilizing its branches to organize visits to the exhibition among Youth Union members.
Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, from Bau Bang Public Works Company and Nguyen Minh Tam, a Youth Union member of Di An town’s Tan Binh ward said that through materials at the exhibition, they has known more obviously about national sea and islands, thereby being proudly introducing national sovereighty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes to friends around the world. It is thought that youngsters need to know and take right actions showing their love for the nation and are always ready to defend the nation…
During the 2016 summer youth volunteer campaign, provincial Student Association has also planned to set up a youth volunteer squad in Phu Quy island district in the central province of Binh Thuan. The youth volunteer squad with 20-25 members will begin operating from June 27 to July 7 with such significant activities as organizing summer classes for children; engaging in activities of environmental protection; carrying a youth work on lighting up rural roads; supporting tourists…, according to Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union.
