Chief coach Henrique Calisto has defined the list of 20 football players for the 16th Asian Games (ASIAD).

 In late October, Calisto selected 20 players for the team to simply register with the ASIAD organizing board on time. However, the official list was announced on November 4.

Calisto rejected three players – Danh Ngoc, Quang Tinh and Van Binh – and called up Trong Hoang and Thanh Luong from the national squad.

  Among the three rejected players, Danh Ngoc and Van Binh were also rejected from the team to the Southeast Asian Games 2009 in the final minutes.

 At the upcoming ASIAD, Vietnam will be in the same group with Iran, Bahrain and Turkmenistan.

 Calisto said that Vietnam aims to enter the second round of ASIAD.

 U23 Vietnam left Vietnam for ASIAD 15 in Guangzhou, China today, November 5.

 The list of players for ASIAD:

 Goalkeepers: Bui Tan Truong and Nguyen Khoa Dien

 Fullbacks: Nguyen Thanh Long Giang, Nguyen Quoc Long, Tran Dinh Dong, Nguyen Minh Duc, Chu Ngoc Anh, Tu Huu Phuoc and Vo Hoang Quang.

 Halfbacks: Nguyen Duc Thien, Le Van Thang, Dinh Thanh Trung, Bui Van Hieu, Pham Thanh Luong, Nguyen Trong Hoang, Phan Thanh Hung, Nguyen Ngoc Dieu, Nguyen Thai Duong.

 Strikers: Nguyen Anh Duc and Hoang Dinh Tung.
