A high-ranking delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee paid a working visit to France from June 26-29 to seek ways to strengthen friendship and all-round cooperation between the two countries.
During their stay, the delegation, led by President Huynh Dam, worked with leaders of the Communist Party of France (PCF) and the Union of Overseas Vietnamese in France (UGFV).
The French side pledged to continue supporting the Vietnamese community in France and to work with Vietnam to successfully organise celebrations for the 40 th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Working with the PCF representatives, Dam said Vietnam appreciates the invaluable support shown by French people, and the PCF in particular, for the country during its struggle for independence and subsequent national construction.
Vietnam always treasure the traditional ties with the PCF, he stressed.
Isabella de Ameida, Chairwoman of the French Council of State and a member of the PCF Politburo said her party is interested in organising regular theoretical seminars between the two parties. She said this will allow both sides to exchange opinions and seek measures to overcome common challenges, such as unemployment, poverty, unfair competition and climate change.
During his meeting with representatives from the UGFV, Dam declared that the union is always an indispensable group of the Vietnamese people. He encouraged Vietnamese nationals to strengthen unity and continue making contributions to their homeland.
