Vietnam is joining more than 100 other countries and territories at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecom World 2019, taking place in Budapest from September 9-12.

Themed “Innovating together: connectivity that matters”, the exhibition features a wide range of events, including an exhibition on the latest ICT products and technologies, a high-level forum on 5G network implementation, ITU Telecom World Awards, and a networking programme for small- and medium-sized companies.
Speaking at the opening ceremony as the host for the ITU Telecom World in 2020, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung laid stress on the significance of the ICT in the digital world, and said all countries need to join hands to make changes in technologies as well as outline strategies to create new values.
He took the occasion to invite ITU members and international organisations to attend the event in Vietnam next year.
The minister affirmed that Vietnam is striving to shift telecommunications to ICT infrastructure, with a national digital transformation strategy that includes the engagement of the Government, businesses and society.
