Vietnam, China hold fifth negotiation round on cooperation at sea

Working groups of Vietnam and China held the fifth round of negotiations on cooperation for mutual development at sea in Liaoning province (China) from August 25-27.
Both sides exchanged viewpoints and discussed possibilities for cooperation.
They agreed to continue following common perceptions of leaders and the “Agreement on basis principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues between Vietnam and China” signed in 2011 to conduct negotiations on cooperation for mutual development at sea in accordance with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
