At a July 23 meeting between Vietnamese chief legislator Hung and Korean President Park Geun-hye, both sides pledged to promote strategic cooperation between the two nations.
Chairman Hung conveyed an invitation to Vietnam from President Truong Tan Sang to President Park Geun-hye with the aim of setting orientations for broader bilateral cooperation in the years to come.
Hung briefed Park on the outcome of talks with the RoK’s NA Speaker Kang Chang-hee during which both sides agreed upon measures to further enhance parliamentary ties.

He asked the Korean President to pay more attention and support measures aimed at boosting bilateral ties.
Park praised Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements over the years and noted with her satisfaction over the positive development of cooperative relations which were upgraded to a strategic partnership in 2009.
Vietnam needs to improve mechanisms and policies to facilitate Korean investment in the country, she noted.
The two leaders concurred to maintain delegation exchange at all levels to consolidate political trust and increase bilateral cooperation in investment, trade, labour and tourism.
They held that Vietnam and the RoK should create the best possible conditions for their businesses to expand the market and seek investment opportunities.
Vietnam wants the RoK to increase the level of ODA funding for the country and expand cooperation in labour and people-to-people exchange, Hung said. On the same day, Chairman Hung visited Yongin City Hall and met with President of the Yongin municipal Council Lee Woo-huyn.
