Vietnam strengthens ties with Mexico: State President

Mr Sang emphasised this while receiving Mexican Senate President Jose Gonzalez Morfin, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, in Hanoi on January 13.  

The State leader expressed appreciation for Mexican people’s support during Vietnam’s past struggle for national independence and said he hope the time-honoured relationship between the two coutries will continue to develop in all fields.

He also took the opportunity to invite his Mexican counterpart, Felipe Calderon, to visit Vietnam in the future.

For his part, Mr Morfin spoke highly of Vietnam’s socio-economic development and said he believes the visit will boost bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Senate President Morfin affirmed Mexico’s policy of promoting cooperation with Vietnam in international and regional forums. He also said he hope Vietnam will back Mexico’s joining the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement.
