PM Dung made the commitment at a reception in Hanoi on April 12 for Uruguayan ambassador Carlos Irigaray, who paid a courtesy visit upon assuming his new tasks in Vietnam.
He expressed delight at the positive development in multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Uruguay, especially in economics and trade, with two-way trade last year doubling 2010’s figure.
Vietnam will organize a conference at the ministerial level with Latin American countries in the coming time and invite Uruguay to send its minister to attend this important event, said Mr Dung.
PM Dung also expressed the hope that Uruguay will recognize Vietnam as a market-oriented economy soon, and that the countries will support each other in both international and regional forums.
The Vietnamese government will support Ambassador Carlos Irigaray in fulfilling his mission in Vietnam, the PM assured the diplomat.
For his part, Mr Irigaray affirmed that the embassy will co-ordinate with Vietnam’s relevant ministries and agencies to implement PM Dung’s suggestions and make greater efforts to draw up new cooperative programs between the two countries, especially in the fields of economics, trade, investment, culture and education.
The ambassador also said that Uruguay has always created favourable conditions for Vietnamese goods to penetrate its market, stressing that the country is willing to become the gateway for Vietnamese goods to enter the South American market.
