11th provincial Phu Dong Sport Festival kicks off

On the afternoon of January 26, the opening ceremony of the 11^th provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival for the 2023-2024 school year was held at Di An city’s stadium, in attendance of Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

The 11th provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival has taken place from January 5 to March 21, 2024, with the participation of 46 sports delegations from 37 high schools and Divisions of Education and Training of 9 districts, towns and cities with 9,468 athletes and 1,959 coaches.

With the criteria of "Being healthy to study well", "Being healthy to build and be ready to defend the Fatherland", "Faster - Higher - Stronger", "New achievements - New records", the sports festival includes 13 events: athletics, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, shuttlecock, Taekwondo, Karate, Vovinam, chess and tug-of-war.

After the opening ceremony, athletes competed in the men's and women's 50m relay race for elementary-school students and the men's and women's 100m relay race for high and secondary-school students.
