2022 province competition on “introducing tourist sites”: A meaningful playground for local tourism

The typical and attractive destinations of Binh Duong tourism were once again very impressively introduced by contestants participating in the 2022 provincial "competition on introducing tourist sites” with passion and love of travel. The competition was organized by provincial Tourism Promotion Center, aiming to introduce and promote the local tourist destinations to all people, thereby searching and fostering a contingent of guides to serve the local needs for tourism development in the coming time.

Useful playground

Launched from July 5, 2022, with effective coordination in the propaganda work of the local media agencies, related agencies, units and travel units, the 2022 provincial contest on "Introducing tourist sites” has attracted attention, especially the enthusiastic participation of many candidates who are studying, living and working in the province. This is the second time that provincial Tourism Promotion Center has organized the contest. The number of entries has increased significantly in comparison to the previous time. Especially, not only attracting young people, this year's contest also attracted the participation of older people. This showed that this meaningful playground received the attention of many people of all ages.

The organizing board of the contest presents prizes to winners

Minh Duc Minh, Director of provincial Tourism Promotion Center, Head of the Organizing Board of the contest said that the contest was a useful playground, attracting people's attention and learning about the local tourist destinations. This was also an opportunity for contestants to meet and exchange knowledge and skills introducing the local tourist destinations as well as promoting their tourism products from their units to numerous people, friends and tourists.

After more than 2 months of launching, the organizing board of the contest received 44 entries from 43 authors. As a result, 15 candidates with excellent entries were selected for the final round of the contest, which was held on September 30. In this final round, contestants demonstrated their ability to explain as well as their understanding of historical, cultural, and tourist values ​​through their entries based by topics that were drawn previously.

Contestant Pham Huu Cau, from provincial Museum shared that although the preparation time for the final round was not much, but he and other contestants tried their best to complete their entries well. Sharing about his reason for participating in the contest, he said: “This contest has a very important meaning for tour guides like me. This is an opportunity for me to practice and improve my skills in welcoming visitors to the local tourist sites."

Contributing to promoting Binh Duong tourism

After 3 rounds, the 2022 provincial "competition introducing tourist sites” took place very excitingly, attractively and ended successfully. The results achieved, especially confidence to step on the stage to introduce the local favorite tourist sites to a large number of friends, the audience in this contest has expressed the meaning of the contest.

Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu from Sol Retreat Farm in North Tan Uyen district’s Hieu Liem commune is one of the contestants who left a special impression in this contest. This year, Mrs. Thu is 62 years old, but her love of travel helped her entry get very impressively and attractively. This was also the oldest contestant this year. “I joined this contest because I wanted to promote my Sol Retreat Farm to everyone. Coming here, I also learned many things. Together with young people, I learned about the local tourist sites as well as how to promote tourist sites from other contestants' entries," she said.

The organizing board of the contest highly appreciated the enthusiastic response, sense of responsibility and seriousness of the contestants. The candidates had good preparations in terms of the content and presentation of their entries. The contents of the entries were very diverse, thereby introducing the local outstanding tourist sites to visitors and friends…

The 2022 provincial contest on "Introducing tourist sites” ended, but the organizing board of the contest hopes that through the contest, the contestants will continue showing their skills when becoming a tour guide to introduce and guide friends, tourists wishing to visit and learn about Binh Duong tourism. This year's contestants also hoped that the contest will continue being held annually, which is as a cultural activity, a meaningful playground for all people who are living, studying and working in and out of the province.
