A festival of model families

Twenty-one families from many provinces attended the 10th South East Region Family Festival in 2019 hosted by Binh Duong province. This was the joy and pride of model families from many provinces to come here and exchange, learn about building a happy family.

A musical performance to celebrate Families’ Festival of Southeast region.

The land and people of Binh Duong left a good impression on families coming to Binh Duong to attend this festival. The organizing committee carefully prepared the reception of these delegations. According to Tran Van Hien, a model family of Ninh Thuan province, he was very happy to come to Binh Duong this time. Binh Duong's development also surprised him. During the days in Binh Duong to attend this festival, his family as well as other teams was warmly welcomed. The opening program was also very imposing and joyful with elaborate music performances. The festival aimed to preserve and promote family cultural values. The organization of useful activities on Vietnam Family Day 28 Jun also honored model cultural families, created a chance for families in the Southeast to meet and exchange culture and arts, physical training and sports, contributing to strengthening friendly solidarity among families of provinces.

Activities of the festival was an opportunity for families to show their talents. The most fun was the "Happy family" competition with games: surpassing obstacles to throw ball into basket; building towers; passing lemon by spoon. In the "Talented Family" competition, each group had a program in the self-introduction contest with many forms, like skits, dramas, comedies, reformed theater... with propagation contents of preventing, combating domestic violence with a maximum duration of 15 minutes. Many items were elaborately staged, showed the talent and effort of participants.

According to Nguyen Khoa Hai, Director of Binh Duong provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee, this was also an opportunity for Binh Duong to introduce our image and friendliness when welcoming families from many provinces. In addition to the main program, the Organizing Committee also organized a visit to some places, such as: Dai Nam cultural and sports tourism area, Hoi Khanh pagoda, Minh Sang Plaza, Phu Loi Prison... to introduce the beauty and history of Binh Duong.

When he was alive, President Ho Chi Minh was interested in the role of family. He affirmed: “Caring for families is a right thing, because many families add up to a good society, good families make good society, better society is better families, the nucleus of society is families. Therefore, to build socialism is to pay attention to the nucleus”. This was also the spirit of Vietnam Family Day 28 Jun. Families’ festival in the Southeast region honored the most model and happy families so that they could exchange, learn from each other about building better and happy families.

At the 10th South East Families’ Festival in 2019, there were 21 families taking part in the "Happy family" content. The subjects included: surpassing obstacles to throw ball into basket; building towers; passing lemon by spoon. At the end, Binh Duong team won the 1st place of the three competitions.
