Asian - Horasis Economic Cooperation Forum 2018: Binh Duong province’s vision and opportunity for businesses

Following the success of the 2018 WTA Summit held in Binh Duong recently, the organization of the 2018 Asian - Horasis Economic Cooperation Forum continues to confirm the position, strategic vision of Binh Duong, and open up great opportunities for businesses, raising Binh Duong’s status in the international arena.

The 16th WTA Mayor's Forum at the 2018 WTA Summit has lately held in Binh Duong.  

From vision

Horasis is an international investment promotion organization established in 2005. A number of recent annual conferences were held in Bangkok, Thailand (2016), Kolkata, India (2017). Horasis events bring together influential business leaders to discuss collaborative approaches to address the sustainable development and gathering of executives from leading companies.

Every year, Horasis organizes meetings to promote solutions to the most important challenges of multinational corporations. Meetings, dialogues at Horasis aim to give delegates a comprehensive look at activities affecting the process of driving Asia's economic success and the way Asian businesses interact with the region as well as globally. At the same time, this will also be an opportunity for local enterprises to exchange and connect with high-level partners, founders, CEOs and leaders of leading companies in Asia, the region and the world; Thereby contributing to improving the ability to seek opportunities, partners for economic development, promote trade and investment of countries in Asia in general and Vietnam in particular to the world.

According to the plan, Horasis 2018 will have over 600 CEOs, Presidents of multinational corporations in Asia and the United States, speakers, researchers, scientists to engage in dialogues, plenary sessions to devise, offer solutions, visions, new business models, support for micro-scale start-ups, and smart city solutions.

At the recent meeting in preparation for Horasis 2018, Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, said that Horasis 2018 was an important international event which has an influence on the development of the province. Therefore, agencies and units in the province should perform well tasks and at the same time good communication work so that many domestic enterprises would participate in this event. He also asked the related units to prepare guest list, to do well reception, accommodation, meals, transport for delegates.

To an opportunity for businesses

Speaking at the Horasis 2018 preparation meeting, Mai Hung Dung, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, asked agencies and departments to disseminate information to enterprises in the province, especially connect with industry associations in the province and surrounding area, so that businesses will have the opportunity to participate in this international forum. He also noted that there should be opportunities for businesses with real needs to come to the forum, including from surrounding areas.

According to Tran Thanh Trong, Chairman of Binh Duong Electric Mechanical Association, this forum will be important for both large enterprises and small and medium enterprises. For large businesses, there is the opportunity to connect, expand markets, learn, exchange management experiences in Industry 4.0, and broaden vision. For small and medium enterprises, this is the opportunity to learn experience, grasp development trends of the world economy, and take advantage of opportunities to rise up.

Tran Anh Vu, Director of Lien Thanh Company, said that timber enterprises in the province had been putting more effort to renovate technology, expand market and raise production capacity to meet demands of the world market, thus affirming the position of Binh Duong timber industry on the international market. Horasis 2018 will be really a great opportunity for timber industry to learn development strategies, production management capabilities, exchange opportunities with large enterprises, develop business vision.
