In the newly built house, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lam, a 1/4th class war invalid living in Tan My commune, happily expressed her gratitude to the local authorities and sponsors who supported the construction of gratitude houses for the families. Despite facing many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic during the construction process with the attentative and enthusiastic support of the government and sponsors, the house was spaciously built with a total amount of VND 350 million, of which, Binh Duong Lottery One Member Limited Liability Company donated VND 100 million; Tan My Commune People's Committee supported VND 50 million; and the family contributed VND 200 million.
In addition to Ms. Lam in Tan My commune, the People's Committees of other communes and towns of Bac Tan Uyen district have also reviewed those who need housing improvement in 2021-2025 according to the provisions of Decree No. 131/2021/ND-CP of the government. Through the review, 9 cases are in need of upgrading and renovating houses; 3 cases are of new construction. Ms. Le Huynh Le, Head of the Division of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Bac Tan Uyen district, said that the whole district has 2,376 people with meritorious services including Vietnamese heroic mothers, martyrs' families, Injured and sick soldiers, Agent Orange victims, cadres imprisoned by the enemies etc. During the 2022 Lunar New Year, besides delegations to visit and give gifts to socially-privileged families, the district also campaigned to give away 134 gifts worth VND 294 million along with 23 savings books worth VND 23 million to take care of 4 socially-privileged families with the amount of VND VND 8.45 million.
In the first 6 months of 2022, the Division of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Bac Tan Uyen district also completed 35 records including 30 records of burial fees, 3 burial moving records, and 1 file of martyr worship, 1 dossier of correction of information of resistance activists sent to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and 17 dossiers of health insurance for relatives of people with meritorious services. In addition, the district also organized a shuttle of 45 people with meritorious services to concentrated nursing at the Nursing Center of People with meritorious services in Lam Dong province from May 28 to June 2 (totally 71 people were nursing at home). .
Joining hands with the district, Bac Tan Uyen Power Company also gave 3 gifts to 3 heroic Vietnamese mothers in Thuong Tan commune, Binh My commune and Tan Binh town with the amount of VND 6 million. The Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims of the province surveyed the family life of 16out of 18 children of resistance activists infected with toxic chemicals in the communes of Thuong Tan, Hieu Liem, Tan Dinh, Binh My and Tan Thanh town. Through the survey, the association has offered the amount of VND 8 million (VND 500,000 each); take 2 subjects who are resistance activists infected with toxic chemicals for treatment at the Social Protection Center of Vietnamese Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims. Thien Tam Fund of VinGroup also gave 2 seriously wounded soldiers in Tan My commune, Binh My commune the amount of VND 30 million (VND 15 million each).

Caring for people with meritorious services and families is a regular job demonstrating the nation's principle of gratitude. Thanks to the good propaganda, each cadre, Party member and people in the area of Bac Tan Uyen district are deeply aware of the purpose and meaning of the gratitude work.
Mr. Do Ngoc Loi, Secretary of Bac Tan Uyen district Trade Union, said that every year, the district Youth Union of Former Youth Volunteers and the district Youth Union organize the journeys to show patriotism, which the district Youth Union organizes to take care of former youth volunteers who have difficult circumstances, give gifts and offer health checks to formerly young volunteers. In addition, union members, youth and former youth volunteers participated in offering flowers, incense and reviewing traditions at ‘red addresses’ in the district and province.
The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has coordinated with associations and mass organizations to organize movements to mobilize units and businesses to take care of, sponsor and take care of Vietnamese mothers. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day this year, the People's Committee of Bac Tan Uyen district has reviewed and recognized 10 communes and towns that hold the title of "communities and towns that do well in the work of gratitude" in 2022 and made a list of rewards for 17 individuals who won the title of "Model citizen" and 12 households who won the title of "Exemplary revolutionary family". The district People's Committee has requested the People's Committees of communes and townships, based on actual needs, tasks and the ability of the local budget to balance, to allocate funds to organize the implementation of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs’ Day and organize meetings of wounded soldiers, families of martyrs and people with meritorious services. Activities were held in the spirit of thrift, practicality and solemnity to review the nation's tradition of heroic revolutionary struggle and the historical significance of Invalids and Martyrs' Day to show the compassionate of the CPV and State for those with meritorious services to the country, thereby educating the younger generation the tradition.
