Along with the industrial development of the province, the movements of civil servants, laborers and local trade union activities have increasingly affirmed their position and role as a bridge between the Party, government and laborers. The contingent of the local civil servants and employees is always excited, increasingly believes in the leadership of the Party, promotes the spirit of creativity, enthusiasm for production, actively contributing to the local socio-economic development.
Continuously developing organization
Up to now, the province has had 29 industrial parks (IPs) and 12 industrial compounds in operation, attracting many domestic and foreign enterprises. Accordingly, the province now has about 1.2 million workers, 56% and 85% of which are female and immigrant, respectively. The majority of workers are young with educational and professional qualifications. The rate of trained workers in various forms is over 76%.

Mai Thanh Thao, Chairman of the Trade Union of province-based Ips said that during its operational process, the Trade Union of province-based Ips has always determined the work of developing trade unionists and establishing trade union locals as one of the key tasks. By the end of 2021, the Trade Union was decentralized to manage 10 Ips with 460 trade union locals, 133,449 trade unionists out of 143,582 employees, an increase of nearly 5 times in the number of trade unionists …
Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran, Vice-President of provincial Labor Union said that developing trade unionists and establishing trade union locals is one of the trade union’s regular tasks. Since then, ideological propaganda and education have been implemented so that trade unionists can believe in the leadership of the Party, State and Trade Union of Vietnam, enthusiastically working; participate in building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at enterprises. Performing the representative function to protect employees’ legitimate rights and interests, trade unions at all levels have well organized dialogues, negotiations and signing of collective labor deals…The material and spiritual lives of employees have been gradually improved, creating the motivation for labor emulation, contributing to fulfilling production and business plans of units and enterprises; building a harmonious, stable and progressive labor relationship at enterprises; promoting the local socio-economic development. So far, provincial Trade Union has established more than 4,000 trade union locals, with over 800,000 members.
Caring for and protecting employees’interests, rights
With the characteristics of a province with a large number of immigrant workers, provincial trade unions at all levels have focused on practical activities to care for and protect the legitimate interests and rights of trade unionists and workers. Specifically, provincial trade unions at all levels spent nearly VND 85 billion on supporting employees affected by Covid-19 pandemic; maintained activities to visit and support for 118 trade unionists suffering from serious illness and those who died of Covid-19 with nearly VND1.2 billion; supported more than 60,000 trade unionists and employees to access and buy essential products at the price of “zero dong” or 50% discounts from “zero dong” market-day, “welfare booths for trade unionists” organized by all-levels trade unions with a total amount of nearly VND15 billion. During the Lunar New Year of the Tiger festival 2022, provincial Trade Union spent more than VND299 billion on supporting the lives of nearly 800,000 trade unionists and employees; organized the program of "Warm Tet with workers whose relatives died due to Covid-19" and presented savings books to children whose parents died of Covid-19 pandemic...
Provincial Labor Union visits and donates gifts to workers with difficult circumstances
In order to ensure trade unionists and laborers’ legitimate interests and rights, trade union locals have actively coordinated with the directorates of companies to hold dialogues to promptly solve problems in labor relations. In the first 6 months of 2022, nearly 1,400 non-State enterprises with trade union locals organized dialogues with employees. Trade union locals also organized to negotiate and sign new collective deals with more benefit for employees; there were nearly 2,200 valid labor collective deals signed. Trade unions at all levels also actively coordinated with functional sectors in inspecting and supervising the implementation of labor laws at enterprises; coordinated in solving and removing obstacles, gradually building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at the workplace; joined hands with all-level authorities, sectors and the business community in taking good care of workers' lives...
Effectively organizing patriotic emulation movements
In parallel with the activities of organizational development, care and protection of employees’legitimate and rights, provincial trade unions at all levels have been practive to closely coordinate with units and enterprises to organize many practical emulation movements in association with production and business, receiving response from trade unionists and employees.
Dang Thi Kim Chi, Chairwoman of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks’Trade Union said that the emulation movements of "Working well- Working creatively", "Upholding technical initiatives, innovations"; “Good at workplace, responsible to housework”… among employees are one of the key activities of VSIP’s Trade Union. Particularly in 2021, they attracted a large number of trade unionists and employees with thousands of initiatives that brought more than VND 500 billion in economic benefit to enterprises. Through the movements, there were many innovations, promoting production, increasing productivity, helping enterprises to reach stable and sustainable development while arousing the spirit of emulation and creativity, contributing to successfully implementing tasks on socio-economic development and improving the material and spiritual lives of employees.
