BIMEA promotes coherence for better competitiveness

Update: 26-10-2013 | 00:00:00

Since its inception of 2012, Binh Duong Mechanical Electrical Association (BIMEA) has implemented a series of activities to support enterprises in terms of trade promotion, market expansion while taking full advantage of the attention and support from the local functional agencies and other associations…

Efficiency from trade promotion

In the first nine months of 2013, Binh Duong’s mechanical electrical sector gradually rebounded, due to the stabilization on material price, workforce and the reduction on interest rates…Many enterprises in this sector reached export orders till year-end. To achieve the result, they made efforts in trade promotion with active contributions from BIMEA in this task.  BIMEA focused on market expansion and continuously took part in expos so that the sector’s products could be known by customers.

To mark its establishment, BIMEA successfully took part in a trade fair on industry and trade in the Mekong Delta province of Long An. At the trade fair, BIMEA was very successful with a booth on SBMPOWER and IFAN products. They were high appreciated and awarded the certificate of merit from the People’s Committee of Long An province. And then, BIMEA continued participating in an expo in southern Binh Phuoc province, signed cooperation regulations with provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association and other associations.

Noticeably, BIMEA helped its two members Sang Ban Mai Joint Stock Company and Nghe Nang Company attend the 3rd Vietnam-Myanmar Trade Service and Tourism Fair 2013 ( Ho Chi Minh City Expo 2013) in Myanmar’s Yangon city in June 2013. All IFAN products on display at the expo were sold out. Vietnam’s SBMPOWER products initially affirmed their position in Myanmar. Many companies, namely CNC, Kim Chung and Sang Ban Mai, reached 70%-80% of export turnover.

Coherence to enhance competitiveness

Apart from the above positive signs, province-based enterprises in this sector have still faced difficulties in production and business, due to the purchasing power at domestic market on reduction, the lack of State budget for public investment projects…For 2013’s plans on production and business well fulfilled, they have continued improving the quality of products and their competitiveness while strengthening trade promotion and market expansion.

Tran Thanh Trong, Chairman of BIMEA said that BIMEA has further grasped its members’ production and business activities and reflected them to the local functional agencies for timely solutions. Especially, BIMEA will pay working visits to neighboring associations to introduce its members’ products, making opportunities for mutual cooperation. Upholding the efficiency of trade promotion done over the past time, BIMEA has continued taking part in many programs benefiting its members, registered to implement industrial promotion programs in order to enjoy incentives in terms of sci-tech and vocational training for laborers from them…

BIMEA has also proposed provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) and provincial Industrial Parks Management Board to inform its members about new investment projects to seek opportunities for cooperation. Provincial DoIT has also been suggested to speed up dissemination of information about electric generators with the big capacity of more than 1,100 KVA which are produced in Binh Duong, contributing to increasing domestic products’ competitiveness.

Although facing difficulties in market, province-based enterprises in this sector have always received the attention and support from the local functional agencies. Noticeably, the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” have contributed to helping many enterprises overcome difficulties. More importantly, they have made mutual coherence to overcome difficulties, especially in the international integration process…
