Binh Duong focuses on quality of population

To raise quality of population, the province has paid much attention to changing behavior and awareness on family planning and reproduction healthcare service.

The top goal in the locality is quality of population. The ratio of natural population increase and birth level decreased sharply, contributing to hasten poverty reduction and economic development…   population collaborators at an exchange. 

From a locality with a very high birth rate of 4.5 in 1991, the province was at 1.7 in 2010. The rate of married coupled applying contraceptive measures surged from 34.32% in 1991 to 73.80% in 2010. As of the end of 2011, the birth reduction rate is at 0.6‰ from 2010. The proportion of families giving birth to a third child sees a decrease of 1.23%.

The local policy of family planning and population has been adjusted overall, focusing on population quality. Over years, local authorities have launched recommendation policies for bodies and individuals involving in the work of family planning and population.

With models and clubs of “happy farmer family”, “pre-marriage” and so on, population collaborators in cooperation with the club managerial board have timely replied queries for members.

Doctor Pham Thanh Thuy, director of the provincial Center for Reproduction Healthcare, said “In 2011, the whole province has spurred implementation of reproduction healthcare. The ratio of malnourished children has decreased sharply whilst the rate of women testing cancer diseases has increased”.

Thanks to high socialization and effective combination between telecommunication and services of family planning and reproduction healthcare, the locality has reached significant results of the quality of population.
