Binh Duong Provincial Catholics active in patriotism movements

August 3, Binh Duong Provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics held a meeting to praise up good examples of people with good actions among Catholic community from 2010 to 2015. Attending the 4^th meeting was Tran Thanh Liem, Member of Standing Committee cum permanent Deputy Chair of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee, Huynh Van Nhi, Member of Standing Committee cum Chair of Binh Duong Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Nguyen Thanh Liem, Member of Standing Committee cum Head of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee Mass Mobilization, Priest Phan Khac Tu, Deputy Chair of Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics, and leaders of departments and unions in the province.

Emulation of business production

In 5 years, Catholics community in Binh Duong Province has promoted solidarity and mutual supporting lives by robust household economic development and life improvement in the process of local socio-economic development. In rural areas, many Catholics families have been for the decision of animal and plant changing and emulation programs of good businesses and technology advancement application for the best yields.

At Lac An Commune in Bac Tan Uyen District, many families have emerged as excellent household businesses of average income of hundred millions of dong a year. In unions, local Catholics have extended mutual help by rotary loans of up to VND 780 million for 1,090 turns of members. 260 turns of people of relatively good economic background have offered loans and seedlings to 375 turns of people in hardship at the cost of VND 860 million in a bid to carry out well poverty reduction. By the emulation, live hood of local Catholics people have been dramatically improved to change the socio-economic appearance of rural areas.

To uphold sense of community

For the time, local priests have paid great attention to encouraging civilized lifestyle in families, upholding traditional values and thrift practicing in general activities.

Following the emulation programs and propaganda, particularly the movement of unity and cultural life construction in residential areas and good life and religion practice, local religious people have been called upon by local committees for solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in coordination of all-level fatherland front committees to register.

All Catholics families have registered for the emulation for title of cultural family with active participation into building up culturally standardized localities. The churches and mediation communities have been aware of the propaganda and practice of laws and policies of the Party and the State, especially the Constitution and Ordinance of Religious Worship to ensure observation by every citizen.

Being aware of democracy promotion, Catholics community in Binh Duong Province has joined up the learning of guidelines, policies, and laws of the Party and the State; joined up the learning and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples; joined up the mobilization and movements initiated by authorities, fatherland front committee, and unions. Besides, in meeting with voters and local meetings, many Catholics people have attended to raise questions and contribute to building up the Party and authority.

Majority of the Catholics people have well observed citizen duties including military services of youngsters. Besides, they are highly aware of national protection and social security. Many have attended local security forces and months of traffic safety, fire-fighting and prevention, anti-drug, environment hygiene preservation, etc.

Nguyen Thanh Liem, Member of Standing Committee cum Head of Party Committee Mass Mobilization stressed on Catholics unity with the homeland and the people as the precious force of the province. The provincial leaders wish for continual promotion of good tradition and participation into patriotism emulation movements, contributing to the targets of a stronghold nation of wealthy people, society of fairness, democracy, and civilization.
