Binh Duong ranks second at 2014 southeastern Vovinam champs
The 2014 Southeastern Vovinam Championship has just concluded at Ba Ria-Vung Tau province’s sports event hall on the afternoon of August 3.
The host Ba Ria-Vung Tau topped the tournament with 14 gold medals. Binh Duong ranked second with 6 gold medals from Ho Thanh Liem of 54kg, Nguyen Van Manh of 60kg, Dang Van Quang of 64kg, Le Viet Y of 68kg, Pham Truong Sa of 72kg, Nguyen Thi Mong Tuyen of 63kg, 4 silver medals and 6 bronze medals. Dong Nai finished third with 4 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.
This year’s tournament absorbed more than 150 athletes from 7 provinces and cities: Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. They competed in 16 events: combat and demonstration to win 28 sets of medals. Among participating athletes, 18 came from Binh Duong.
