To perform the movement of "Young people join hands to build new rural areas" in 2018, provincial Youth Union at all levels achieved many good results with practical projects that benefited the community. This movement helped create an environment, motivation and enhance of the voluntary spirit of the youth, contributing to the new rural construction and development.
To perform many meaningful works
In 2018, Youth Union and its branches in the whole province implemented many youth works of building infrastructure, environment protection, especially in launchings of "Green Sunday" and "Voluntary Saturday". Nguyen Le Huu Bao, Secretary of Tan Uyen town Youth Union, said: “Executive Committee of Youth Union from town to grassroots pay attention to organizing activities of cleaning, planting flowers on rural roads and the project "Lighting rural roads". In particular, Vinh Tan commune Youth Union replaced new LED lights on youth roads with total cost of over VND 6 million, Hoi Nghia commune Youth Union installed lights on roads of Hamlet 3 with total cost of VND 30 million. The project of Lighting rural roads received enthusiastic participation of local youth, contributing to ensuring traffic safety for rural areas.
Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee organizes a festival of creative rural youth and commends outstanding young ones in working and production.
In the past year, Youth unions in the province carried out 29 projects "Lighting rural roads" with a total length of 26.2 km with a total cost of over VND 260 million; repaired and upgraded 15 rural roads and hardened many rural roads with total length of nearly 7km. In addition, Youth Union at all levels also organized activities, in which youth members cleared bushes, flows, water hyacinths and weeds on roads. Youth Unions also cooperated to well implement a program of building 21 compassionate houses presented to disadvantaged young people in new rural communes, worth nearly VND1.6 billion...
To take part in economic development
Every year, Provincial Youth Union guides the establishment of youth cooperative groups for economic development; organizes activities for young people to visit efficient startups in many areas, and collaborates with provincial Cooperatives’ Alliance to give training courses to youth cadres. Since then, Provincial Youth Union has maintained and developed efficiently grassroots youth cooperative groups, such as Fruit Club in Thu Dau Mot City, cooperative group of growing vegetables in Phuoc Hoa commune (Phu Giao district), group for growing cassava in Dau Tieng district, group for growing orchids in Binh An ward (Di An town)...
In 2018, Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee strengthened many training programs to transfer scientific and technical advances; learn about vegetables production models, seminars, talks about supporting youth startups, build up youth cooperative groups. In addition, Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee disbursed funds to support youths, directed units to organize training courses, change production models, and transfer appropriate scientific and technical advances in accordance with the situation of each area...
Youth Unions also established funds to support young people in developing intensified production models at home. Vo Thi Thu Muoi, Deputy Secretary of Tan Binh commune Youth Union (North Tan Uyen District), is a good example. Thanks to training courses, technology transfer, visits to efficient economic model, Ms. Muoi developed a model of raising 40 wild boars to increase her family's income. As a member of good production and business youth club of her commune, Ms. Muoi and other club members maintained activities and guided local youths on techniques of raising wild pigs.
In order to encourage youth production, Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee also promptly commended and rewarded excellent individuals and groups. This was a great encouragement for the youth in rural areas to establish themselves, develop startups, and improve the material and spiritual life. On the other hand, this also encouraged the youth to continue setting up efficient economic models; contributed to innovating content, methods, improving the quality of organization and operations of Youth Union, expanding the front to gather young ones in rural areas.
