Congress of Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Binh Duong province organized for 2022-2027 tenure

In the afternoon of August 30, the provincial Union of Friendship Organizations held the 3rd Congress of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Binh Duong province for 2022-2027 tenure. Attending the congress was Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Standing Member, Head of the provincial Committee for Mass Mobilization, Chairman of the provincial Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, Ms. Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Council.

Over the past 5 years, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Binh Duong province has implemented many activities, contributing to consolidating and developing the traditional friendship and solidarity, enhancing mutual understanding between the people of the two countries, especially between Binh Duong and Champasak provinces of Laos. The association promptly advised the provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee to support medical examination and gift giving to poor households. In addition, the association has had many activities to organize physical training and sports exchanges and well perform gratitude, charity, and social humanitarian work such as medical examination, medicine supply along with 1,200 gifts to the poor in Champasak province, scholarships for students of Champasak province to study at university in Binh Duong.

The Congress consulted to elect 14 delegates to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Binh Duong province for the 2022-2027 tenure. Ms. Ly Thien Nu, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Dau Tieng Rubber One Member Limited Liability Company was elected as the new President of the association. The Congress approved the resolution for the 2022-2027 tenure.

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Van Loc suggested that the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Binh Duong province should continue to strengthen people-to-people diplomacy activities in the new situation, consolidate and expand association organization, strongly renovate the content and mode of operation of the association; and at the same time, enhance cultural and sports exchanges.
