CPTPP brings opportunities, challenges to domestic wood industry

On the afternoon of April 5, Binh Duong Furniture Association held a seminar on “The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and opportunity for wood industry”.

Attending the seminar were representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade; the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI); sectors, departments, economic experts together with more than 100 wood enterprises.

At the seminar, delegates focused on discussing advantages and disadvantages of Vietnam’s wood industry; how to approach the market and coherence with countries; opportunities and challenges from the CPTPP; competitiveness from foreign investors, especially Chinese ones…This was considered as the movement of foreign investors’ production into Vietnam, making pressure for domestic enterprises in aspects…
