Many enterprises are actively recruiting workers to meet the demand for goods production after Tet, but human resources are scarce. There are a lot of recruitment demands, but few people look for work. According to forecasts, in March 2024, more workers from the provinces will flock to Binh Duong to apply for jobs. To attract more laborers, most enterprises offer quite high income levels, along with allowances, increase days-off and ensure stable jobs.
High recruitment demand
If after the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2023, people found it hard to look for work and enterprises recruited workers in a "drip" way, then in early 2024, most enterprises in the province will post labor recruitment. In recent days, the images of enterprises setting up tables for employees on the street to look for human resources, or labor supply companies "hunting" for human resources across roads in industrial parks, have become all too familiar with passersby.

Even though it is the weekend, Dao Binh and his colleagues are working at D.A. Labor Supply Company are still actively on duty at recruitment points at junctions and intersections leading to Dai Dang, Kim Huy, and Song Than Industrial Parks in Thu Dau Mot city to recruit workers. Mr. Binh said his company predicted that the number of enterprises recruiting workers at the beginning of the year will increase compared to 2023, but unexpectedly it has increased beyond expectations. Besides direct recruitment, the company has posted online recruitment through personal and group websites. Based on its experience, the company has recruited a large number of laborers since the beginning of the year, but the amount has not met the company’s labor demand yet.
According to Mr. Binh, wood and leather shoe enterprises need large human resources, accounting for up to 80% of the number of workers needed. “Through understanding the situation, we know that no enterprise in the province has recruited half of needed workers. Along with assisting in completing job application procedures, we have helped employees find accommodations near their workplace. New workers with difficult circumstances will receive advance payments from the company for meals and housing, which will be gradually deducted from their salary afterward", Mr. Binh said.
As noted by reporters, in addition to enterprises recruiting 100 - 500 unskilled workers, since early this year, many enterprises have continuously posted recruitment with a large number of workers. For example, Panko Vina Co.Ltd. in Ben Cat town needs to recruit 1,200 unskilled workers in the garment-textile industry while King Cou VN Co.Ltd. in Ben Cat town needs to recruit 772 unskilled workers to produce all kinds of nets. In Tan Uyen city, Timberland Co.Ltd., specializing in sofa production, needs to recruit 3,000 workers while Chi Hung Co.Ltd. recruits 3,000 workers. In Thuan An city, Leading Star Vietnam Garment Co., Ltd. is in need of 1,000 garment workers...To attract more human resources, many enterprises have offered quite high income levels when accepting to work with attractive allowances. Chi Hung Co., Ltd., has guaranteed the average income of VND11 million per person per month. Right after being hired, a new employee will be given VND2 million in bonus. Key Bay Furniture Co.Ltd. in Tan Uyen city has offered the monthly income of VND9million-VND25 million per person...
Conditions to stabilize human resources
To help businesses find human resources, since Tet, provincial Labor Union has directed its trade union locals to review and grasp the situation of employment and recruitment. Thereby, the unit has directed trade unions at all levels to post recruitment information widely on Trade Union information pages, Zalo and Facebook for workers to grasp.

Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Deputy Director of provincial Employment Service Center said that since the beginning of February 2024, the number of enterprises connecting with the center to recruit workers has increased compared to previous months. Enterprises have increased recruitment to compensate for labor loss after Tet to meet production requirements when finding orders and potential new markets. Thereby, the center has increased direct recruitment as well as increasing online recruitment sessions; strengthened labor recruitment links with employment service centers with provinces and cities nationwide. Although enterprises in the area are recruiting unskilled workers in large numbers, many still prioritize skilled workers, aged between 18 and 40 years old.
The Labor Unions of districts, towns and cities are also grasping and helping enterprises post recruitment information through Trade Union channels, in order to help enterprises quickly stabilize and have enough human resources for production. Luu Thi Tuyet Trinh, Chairwoman of Tan Uyen city’s Labor Union said that besides supporting the task of posting recruitment information, the unit has also checked whether enterprises have stable jobs or not. Many enterprises said that they have found a large source of orders in new and potential markets, rather than focusing on the European market as before, which is facing many difficulties. Typically, Timberland Co., Ltd. currently needs a lot of unskilled workers, but orders ensure stable production for the next 2 or 3 years.
“Regarding the care regime for employees, in general, enterprises have provided additional allowances for gasoline, child care and boarding fees, especially for taking care of employees with extremely difficult circumstances or supporting needy workers’ children to go to school. To retain employees, enterprises need to take better care of employees in terms of income, employment and other allowances", said Mrs. Trinh. According to provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA), the labor market after the 2024 Tet (Lunar New Year) festival in the province is quite stable, with no changes in labor. There are less than 5% of workers not returning to work at old enterprises. This shows that most enterprises have ensured salaries, bonuses, allowances and take care of Tet for workers quite well.
