Dau Tieng strives to introduce jobs to 1,250 laborers in 2014

In 2013, Dau Tieng district effectively took measures on poverty reduction and paid more attention to poor-near households.

The district organized 11 vocational training classes on cooking, household sewing, how to tap rubber latex; introduced jobs to nearly 1,400 laborers and demobees at firms in and out of the district; teamed up with banks and mass organizations to disburse loans for poor households to develop homebased business. By the end of 2013, the whole district only had 434 poor households, accounting for 1.43% of total and 516 poor-near households, accounting for 1.7% of total.

In 2014, the district will further open vocational training classes for 350 laborers; support and introduce jobs to 1,250 laborers; focus on providing loans on production development and employment creation for poor households, thereby striving to reduce the ratio of the local poor households to below 1% under the province’s poverty line in the 2011 and 2015 period.
