Di An town to build up cultural lifestyle associated with urban development

With the goal to become a type 3 urban area and a district under Binh Duong city in 2020, the Party, government and people of Di An town have strived to implement Central Resolution 9 (TW 9) (term 11) to develop Di An town to become a civilized and prosperous area.

Applying the resolution into life

After 15 years of implementing Resolution TW5 term 8, Di An town achieved many remarkable results. Today, besides industrial parks, many new commercial centers and residential areas have emerged. The face of Di An town has changed every day, social and technical infrastructure of the town have been improved. The urban development has brought a better life quality to local people, social services have increased to satisfy people’s needs. Urban economic development has helped in income increase and creating more employment opportunities for workers. Cultural and spiritual life of local people has been improved.

However, besides positive impacts, the socioeconomic and urban development of Di An town also pose many challenges. Cultural environment still contains social evils and crimes. Therefore, currently, the most urgent task is to heighten cadres, people’s awareness of the role of culture in the cause of national as well as the town construction and protection.

Recently, the movement "All people unite to build up cultural life" in Di An town has made positive, deep and comprehensive impacts on local life. Annual ratio of cultural family reaches 92-95%; cultural quarter achieves 51-68%; cultural agencies, units, and enterprises is 92-99%; cultural lodging house is 78-95%. Besides, cultural activities, the implementation of cultural weddings, funerals and festivals have had positive changes. Conservation and promotion of cultural heritage have been focused through restoration and renovation of municipal Traditional house. Currently, the town has 6 provincial-level relics: Ho Lang, Dinh Binh An, Dinh Ong Ngai Thang, Dinh Di An, Di An Wagon factory, Suoi  Mach Mang, and 1 national monument is Chau Thoi Mountain Temple.

Mr. Dao Minh Thanh, Head of Di An Culture – Information Office, said, Party cell of the unit disseminated Resolution TW 5 and TW9 among cadres and officials; counseled town Party Committee to enhance propaganda, contributing to raising cadres and people’s awareness of the role of culture in the national as well as the town construction and protection.

Turning towards a civilized city

Mr. Pham Van Bay, Head of Di An town Propaganda and Training Committee, stressed, the town has built up an advanced culture imbued with national identities, namely, maintaining and developing traditional cultural forms; strengthening inspection and supervision of cultural activities; prevention and fighting depraved culture and social evils, implementing deeply the movement "All people unite to build up cultural life" in residential areas; implementing civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals; propagating and promoting beautiful national habits and customs…

Socialization of sport activities in Di An town also got good results. The town and wards established 113 culture, sport clubs operating effectively. Currently, cultural, sport institutions have been improved and built up, such as: Cultural Center, Traditional house, Suoi Lo O cultural park, Culture – Sports Centers of Di An, Tan Binh, Binh Thang ward, ongoing project Suoi Mach Mang – Ho Lang relic. In addition, the town has 117 private culture, sport institutions to satisfy people’s needs.

"In the future, Di An town will accelerate construction projects and put into use cultural, sport institutions; strive for 100% ward Culture – Sports Centers having public library; take care, enhance the spiritual life of people and workers; cooperate with other agencies to enhance the movement "All people unite to build up cultural life". The town set targets of 60-70% cultural quarter, 90-95% cultural family, 90-100% cultural units, from 90-95% cultural lodging house, 10-20% civilized ward, develop Di An town as a civilized and prosperous urban area in the future”, said Mr. Pham Van Bay.
