Educating compassion for pupils

Thanks to cooperation among three sectors: the Red Cross Society, the education-training sector and the Youth Union, Binh Duong province’s Red Cross movement at school has over time made positive changes.

 

Positive changes

 

More and more schools in the province have set up the Red Cross Society branches. Noticeably, these branches have also step by step mobilized pupils to get involved in humanitarian activities towards a lifestyle for everyone. 

Provincial Red Cross Society’s movements have helped many pupils with difficult circumstance confidently pursuing their learning

 

Thanks to the profound attention and instruction of the Red Cross Societies at all levels and school management boards, the Red Cross Society branches at province-based schools have had timely consolidation and started operation right from the beginning of the new school year.

 

They have also teamed up with the Youth Union and other societies to provide basic knowledge on the activities of the Red Cross Society for officials, members and young people. Hence, the Red Cross work at province-based schools has created a deep and broad humanitarian movement that bears a practical meaning in raising awareness in officials and civil servants and educating compassion in pupils.

 

Forming up living skills in pupils

 

Annually, there are thousands of poor-but-excellent pupils enjoying help from the movements of “Raising piggybank”, “Charity rice jar”, “Giving help to friends”… launched by the provincial Red Cross Society.

 

Province-based high schools, namely Huynh Van Nghe, Trinh Hoai Duc, Di An…, are schools with the good quality of teaching and learning. They have also excelled at mobilizing and developing a humanitarian fund.

 

Regarding the effectiveness of the Red Cross movements at province-based schools, provincial Red Cross Society Chairwomen, Tran Thi Lien said that between 2006 and 2011, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels mobilized organizations and individuals to present 22,125 scholarships, uniforms, learning tools…to pupils with hard circumstances, give help to 40,677 pupils and 1,919 bicycles to others with a total value of more than VND7bln…
