Educational development project launched for disadvantaged students

On March 20, Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with Saigon Children's Charity CIO held a launching ceremony of a project of educational development for pupils and students having difficult circumstances in Binh Duong province period 2023-2028 (referred to as the project).

The project was mobilized by Saigon Children's Charity CIO and was funded by SC Johnson Company & Son Vietnam with a total amount of more than 2.8 billion VND. The project has three main contents: free laptop; support scholarships for pupils and students having difficult circumstances and raise preschool teachers and parents’ awareness of autism spectrum disorders.

Namely, the Organizing Committee will give 17 laptops worth more than 177 million VND to 17 disadvantaged students. In addition, 100 pupils and students from poor families studying at public schools in Binh Duong will receive scholarships for up to 5 years, until the end of the current level of education; At the same time, the project will organize training sessions to equip students with essential skills, such as communication, cyber safety, self-defense, effective learning skills... And the project will organize training courses to raise preschool teachers and parents’ awareness of autism spectrum disorders, as well as the important role of early intervention for children with autism. This content is expected to be done within a year.
