Nowadays, asphalted roads have been seen across Tan Phuoc quarter. In a short time, 9 rural traffic roads in this quarter were asphalted and equipped lights, bringing favorable conditions for local people.

Implementing the instruction on the State and people cooperate with each other to make rural roads, in the recent time, the quarter people have voluntarily donated land and tens of millions of VND to create positive changes of infrastructure facility for the locality.

Chau Thi De in team 17 positively donated about 400 meters of her land to help complete a rural traffic road. “In the past, local people made many difficulties in traveling in rainy days. Since rural traffic roads have been built, local people have enjoyed a comfortable transport”, De said.

Aside from making rural traffic routes, taking care of local poor families’ living has been focused. The quarter management board has constantly assigned cadres to learn about local people’s living and aspiration. Recently, the quarter has mobilized VND4.6mil from local residents to help Ho Van Tai repair his house’s roof. Tai is a poor household in the quarter. Tai’s daughter said “Thanks to the quarter’s care, my family has enjoyed a better living”.

Meanwhile, Tran Kim Vinh in team 6 has enjoyed a stable life, thanks to a VND10mil loan from the Bank for Social Policies. With this preferential loan, he hired land to grow rice and breed buffaloes. Thanks to patience, he has possessed 9 buffaloes and rice crops, helping him escape poverty.

Building a healthy residential area

Tan Phuoc quarter is home to over 1,800 households. Most of them are immigrants. To build a safe and healthy quarter, the quarter management board has spurred work on order and security and environmental protection in residential areas, especially lodging rooms.

Over the past years, the quarter steering board of cultural living and the management board of Lodging House Club have widely disseminated the Party and State’s policies and instructions to local residents through meetings and implemented model of legal bookcase. Thenceforth, lodgers have raised their legal awareness, minimizing legal breaches and maintaining solidarity and order security at lodging areas.

Meanwhile, proprietors have ensured 100% of lodgers excelling policies on family planning and mutual assistance. Besides, the Lodging House Club’s management board has excelled work on mediation and dispute at lodging house areas. Annually, the Club grants hundreds of gifts to needy alien workers on Tet holiday.

Phan Thanh Hong, head of the quarter management board said that the quarter sub-societies and mass bodies in this quarter have actively disseminated regulations on registering temporary residence and applied contents of family violence control and environmental protection, ensuring a stable and healthy development at the quarter.

In the work on poverty reduction, the quarter steering board of cultural living surveyed and grasped local poor households’ circumstance to help them.

As a result, the quarter decreases about 40% of poor household rate. “In order to maintain efficiency of the work on poverty reduction, the quarter will continue upholding democracy, solidarity and publicity to mobilize local people to develop economy and keep neighborhood relationships”, Hong said.
