The Ministry of Construction issued Document 1674/BXD-QLN to PPC of provinces in order to direct bodies to conduct legitimately procedures for overseas Vietnamese (OV) to purchase houses. Accordingly, house purchasing confirmation papers of OV only need Vietnamese passports or foreign passports accompanying certificates of Vietnamese nationality or Vietnamese origin and testified papers of subjects having rights of owning houses in Vietnam. Besides, the Ministry defined more clearly conditions of purchasing and owning houses in Vietnam, namely, only need testified papers issued by Vietnamese authorities allowing OV to reside in Vietnam in more than 3 months.The Document will take effect from August 12th 2013Reported by Truc Huynh – Translated by Ngoc Huynh
