The first course on ca tru singing has been opened at a concert room of the Institute of Music in Tu Liem district, Hanoi, by the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

The ten-day training course drew the participation of 30 young singers from ca tru clubs nationwide. Folk artists, researchers and cultural collectors will present lectures during the training course.

This is one of the activities to popularize ca tru in the programme of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, apart from the publication of 1,000 DVD discs on ca tru singing in Vietnamese and English.

The course will end on December 9./.
