Getting animated with sports activities

As part of sports activities marking the 67th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs, the 85th founding anniversary of Vietnam’s Trade Union, TDM city’s Center for Culture and Sports, on July 26, kicked off the 2014 Open Chinese Chess Tournament-“Lang Toi coffee” cup.

The tournament absorbed nearly 100 chess players in the province and other localities, including HCM city, Dong Nai and Long An. According to the owner of “Lang Toi” coffee shop, this is the first time the coffee shop has coordinated with the city’s Center for Culture and Sports to organize such Chinese chess tournament. In the coming time, his coffee shop will continue giving financial support for the center’s sports-cultural activities, bringing more joys to the local people.

After one-day competition, the 9th traditional football tournament of Binh Duong People’s Court concluded on the afternoon of July 26. The tournament absorbed 8 teams. Finally, provincial People’s Court won the championship title. Thuan An town’s People’s Court ranked second while the People’s Courts of Phu Giao district and TDM city ranked third.

The award for the best football player went to Vu Van Ba of TDM city. Thieu Van Ket Em of Thuan An won the award for the best goalkeeper. Prior to that, the Trade Union of provincial People’s Court organized table tennis and badminton tournaments.

Early July 26, Phu Loi ward’s Center for Culture and Sports kicked off the 2014 mini-football tournament with the participation of 4 teams. The tournament aimed to bring an useful playground to the local youth.
