In preparation for the year-end shopping rush, shops, supermarkets, and commercial centers run by 8 enterprises have participated into market stablization as decided by the State.
According to enterprise owners, Tet holiday of 2012 is earlier than previous year, thus, they have started goods stockpile ever since July to ensure enough supply and prevent price hike.
Enterprises are ready with goods serving the shopping needs of consumersThe goods are identified from two main supplying sources including goods offered by the enterprises and by the market itself (30-40% of market share).
As reported by Binh Duong Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, over VND 51.1 billion has been disbursed to enterprises at 0% of interest rate. The disbursement is equivalent to 50% of the planning targets for such loans at 0% interest rate.
The Department has assigned 2 petroleum enterprises (Song Be Company and General Company of Thanh Le) to ensure enough petroleum supply in the locality at 84,000 cubic meters, valued at VND 1,716 billion. Meanwhile, preserves for Tet including rice, fresh foods, industrial foods, garments, fuels, etc. are valued at VND 2,085 billion or 20-30% higher than previous year.
It is estimated that nearly 12 tons of meat will be sold at the markets together with 15 million eggs. To supply for triple or even quadrup shopping needs, Binh Duong Co.Op Mart is offering a reserve of 80 tons of rice, 71.5 tons of meat and hundreds of tons of other necessities. All are valued at VND 82.667 billion. The preparation of Binh Duong Co.Op Mart is now 80% of the process, said Mr. Vo Huu Thach, its Director. So as to contribute into market stabilization, local Vinatex has increased its stock by 30% to ensure supplies during Tet holiday.
The Department of Industry and Trade also confirmed that supermarkets in remote areas and regions are demanded to supply necessities as part of market stabilization program.
As the matter of fact, 82 shopping stands under control of Vinatex, CitiMart, and Co.OpMart have been set up across the province. Seasonal shopping spots are expected to increase to 1,234 stands.
Recently while addressing a meeting of market stabilization team, Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Liem has demanded departments and sectors to check up and promote enterprises in supplying goods during Tet, in sending goods to rural areas, industrial parks and processing zones to ensure goods for stablization.
Meanwhile, checking authorities and market control are required to strictly punish market exploits and fake, poor quality goods selling.
By assertion of Department of Industry and Trade, every year, the provincial authorities have learned from reality to refine upcoming years’ preparation for Tet. Therefore, consumers are assured of good shopping.
