Opportunity

Recently, the orientation of high technology attraction has become a key factor determining the quality and efficiency of attracting foreign investment capital (FDI) in Binh Duong in the era of Industry 4.0. The Tetra Pak Group was officially put into operation in Binh Duong, the factory with the most modern European technology shows that Binh Duong has been and is the destination of high quality FDI.

Introducing Tetra Pak's technology platform, Jeffrey Fielkow, Managing Director of Tetra Pak Vietnam, said: "Industry 4.0 creates" smart factories. " In intelligent factories with a modular structure, the virtual reality system monitors real-world processes, creates a virtual copy of the real world and makes distributed decisions. Through the Internet of Things, real-virtual systems communicate, collaborate with each other and with people in real time. With the support of Internet services, internal services and cross-organization services are provided for value chain participants to use. As a result, production supply chains achieve the highest efficiency in terms of processing time, storage time, productivity, and cost and materials. ” Jeffrey Fielkow adds, In the short term the company will seek local suppliers for auxiliary materials used in the factory. Raw materials for direct production will still be imported but oriented towards finding local suppliers that can fully meet the standards of food safety and hygiene. However, in the immediate future, Vietnamese businesses need to comply with technological conditions to ensure the very high safety standards put forward by Tetra Pak.

In the field of import and export, the application of technology is an inevitable trend that requires businesses to grasp. Currently, many manufacturing industries in Binh Duong make good use of e-commerce to boost exports. In the Covid-19 epidemic, the timber industry is a clear demonstration of the opportunity of the import-export industry in Industry 4.0 revolution when promoting e-commerce applications. According to the evaluation of Mr. Dien Quang Hiep, Chairman of Binh Duong Wood Association, the Industry Revolution 4.0 contributes to reducing transaction costs, increasing market access, information, data, connectivity, cooperation, participation. joining the global value chain, creating breakthrough development, promoting industrial development ... Besides, Industry 4.0 revolution promotes the change of management model, economic development model.

Take challenges as motivation

According to Chang-Hee Lee, an expert of the Vietnam International Labor Organization (ILO), Industry 4.0 revolution with extreme automation in many industries, especially textiles, leather shoes, electric assemblies. The number of unskilled labor force in these sectors is expected to increase. According to the ILO report, currently more than two-thirds of the 9.2 million textile and footwear workers in Southeast Asia are threatened by the rapid explosion of science and technology applications. Specifically, about 86% of Vietnamese workers, 88% of Cambodian workers and 64% of Indonesian workers in the garment and footwear industry will be heavily affected by the wave of automation and industrialization. Agreeing to this view, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vu, Chairman of Binh Duong Leather Shoes Association, said that Industry 4.0 has set for leather shoes enterprises to improve the performance of machines, On that basis, contributing to improving economic efficiency for industrial enterprises. Leather enterprises will promote technology investment, improve performance, and connect with each other to help create optimal performance. “Currently, the leather and footwear industry has a lot of new solutions such as sensors, software and connections to bring in a new era of industry. If we do not continue, we will be left behind, ”Mr. Vu wondered.

According to experts' predictions, Industry 4.0 is forecast to create many new jobs, especially in the field of information technology. The CN 4.0 revolution will create breakthroughs in labor productivity and human resource development. Enterprises will require a change in qualifications and capacity of workers to meet new production requirements. This also sets Binh Duong's educational institutions in creating labor generation in Industry 4.0. Meanwhile, looking straight into the reality, the current education and training system has not met the market demand, especially on the quality of high-tech labor. This poses great challenges for the Vietnamese education and training system in general and Binh Duong in particular in redirecting training to suit the labor market.
