An international conference entitled “Sustainable development of Hanoi, the civilized heroic capital city for peace” will take place in Hanoi from October 7th to 9th 2010 in celebration of 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi.
The conference is an inter-disciplinary scientific platform for international and national scientists to announce and discuss the latest results of their comprehensive studies on Hanoi capital.
The topics of 4 panels range from geography, humanity, history, politics, socio-economic-cultural development, resources exploitation, environmental protection, and urban development.
It will be an opportunity for scientists to focus on discussions and propose solutions to uphold the traditional values of the capital, aiming at the objective of urban sustainable development in the context of global change.
The information was given at a press briefing on the conference held in Hanoi on October 4th.
The conference will be held by the Party Central Committee for Propaganda and Training, Hanoi based Vietnam National University, Hanoi City People’s Committee, the Vietnam Institute of Social Sciences, and the Vietnam Association of Historical Science.
The conference will draw the participation of 600 representatives, including 150 foreigners from Japan, China, the US, Russia, India, the Republic of Korea, Australia, Laos and Thailand.
