“Joyful market-day” comes to the “Iron triangle” heroic land

On the evening of April 13 and 14, hundreds of people from three communes under Ben Cat district’s “Iron triangle” heroic land, including Phu An, An Dien and An Tay, gathered at Phu An junior high school to attend a “joyful” market-day, which is part of the province’s 2013 program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”…

Festive day for rural residents

This was seen as a festive day for locals. Nguyen Thi Yen Phi and Nguyen Thi Kim Chi residing in An Tay commune said: “We are staff of Kumho Co. The “joyful” market-day has been organized herein for the first time, so we have rushed to it right after leaving workplace. We have actually liked such market-days”. Many other local people also had the same delight with the two workers.

Perhaps Ho Thi Dung and Vu Thi Thu Hue enjoyed the biggest happiness because they were selected to receive gifts from participating businesses at the joyful market-day. They are now among needy people in Ben Cat district. Dung said: “Phu An commune has paid more attention to people with difficulties. We have always received support from the local authorities on Tet and great holidays…”.

Giving discounts to lure customers

Co.opMart participated in the market day with many big pavilions displaying and selling tens of commodities under price stabilization such as sugar, salt, seasoning powder, oil cooking, detergent…Thanh Le One-Member Co.Ltd. was also present at the event with a pavilion full of rice with stabilized prices.

Besides, many other enterprises, namely Long Thuan Co., Minh Suong Co., Greenfood Co., Hung Thanh Tai Co…, participated in the market day to display and sell consumption food items, household commodities, available garments, electronics... Nguyen Thanh Tho, Head of the Sales Department of Hung Thanh Tai Co. said: “We have brought nearly 20 varieties of goods with 10-25% discounts to the market day”.

Consumption orientations

Nguyen Tan Loc, Vice-Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee cum Deputy Head of provincial Steering Board of the Program “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”  said that participating enterprises have brought high quality Vietnamese goods with cheap prices to the market day.

He also hoped that the market day would be acted as a bridge between domestic producers and customers in the rural areas of the province. According to the organizers, the market day was organized with the goal of providing locals with orientations for consumption towards building up a consumption culture among them.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh, Director of the Trade Promotion Center under provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) said: “Provincial DoIT’s plan in 2013 is to organize 16 joyful market days, up 9 compared to 2012. Hence, we need support from localities to be able to well fulfill the above plan, contributing to promoting the campaign of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”…
