July is a chance for the entire society to express deep gratitude to revolutionary contributors. These days, leaders of TDM city have visited, offered gifts to the families of martyrs, revolutionary contributors…

Grateful activities

From July 21 to 24, leaders of TDM city together with some sectors will organize many delegations to visit and offer gifts to the local policy beneficiaries.

Doan Thi Thu Hong, Head of TDM city’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that along with gifts from central and provincial levels, the city will extract VND234million from the local State budget to donate gifts to targeted people on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs ‘Day this year. The whole city now has 7 heroic Vietnamese mothers alive, 20 seriously injured war invalids and 90 outstanding policy beneficiaries with illness or difficult circumstances. They will be given gifts by the city on this occasion.

With the tradition of “Paying debt of gratitude”, the city will also donate necessary equipment, including tables, chairs, wardrobes and fans…, to policy beneficiary families and revolutionary contributors with a total expense of more than VND95million, funded by 4 Chinese groups…

As planned, the city will also organize 3 tours taking 190 targeted people to Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa provinces for convalescence.

Along with grateful activities of the city, the People’s Committees of wards will mobilize organizations and individuals to raise money for the local Gratitude Fund in order to focus on taking care of the lives of policy beneficiaries, organizing get-togethers, visiting and offering gifts to targeted people. As of now, wards in the city have mobilized more than VND483million and is expected to offer 2,197 gifts to policy beneficiaries on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs ‘Day this year.

Regular care

Under the principle of “When drinking water, remember its source”, TDM city’s authorities at all levels have regularly taken care of the spiritual and material lives of policy beneficiaries. Mrs.Hong added that the city has sufficiently paid monthly preferential policies for policy beneficiaries. The city’s Division of War Invalids and Martyrs has also coordinated with relevant units to well realize the movement of maintaining heroic Vietnamese mothers alive; opportunely handled preferential documents for revolutionary contributors. In addition, the city has continued promoting the local Gratitude Fund, aiming to opportunely upgrade gratitude houses for policy beneficiaries with difficult circumstances. Over the past six months, the city considered and upgraded 4 gratitude houses; gave unexpected support for 4 needy policy beneficiaries being treated at medical facilities…

Over the past years, the city actively mobilized units, enterprises to take care of the spiritual and material lives of policy beneficiary families with difficult circumstances. Especially, the city’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs advised the city’s People’s Committee on approving the suggestion of supporting 1,252 revolutionary contributors and their families with more than VND1.8billion.

In the remaining 6 months, the city will bend on well dealing with the Party and State’s preferential policies for policy beneficiaries and revolutionary contributors. The city will also continue urging wards to carry out new preferential ordinances for revolutionary contributors; consider and approve documents awarding and posthumously bestowing the State’s honorable title to heroic Vietnamese mothers in the 3^rd stage of 2020.
